RCS #37 - "Girl with a Pearl Earring"

Hey RCS fans! We're back with another layout challenge! 

Our challenge this week is to create a layout using pearls!

Our challenge this week is inspired by the movie, "Girl with a Pearl Earring."

 
"Girl with a Pearl Earring" is a 2004 drama, based on the life of the Dutch painter, Johannes Vermeer.
 
A young peasant maid (Scarlett Johansson) working in the house of painter Johannes Vermeer (Colin Firth) becomes his talented assistant and the model for one of his most famous works.
 
"Girl with a Pearl Earring" was nominated for 3 Oscars, but won none. The movie was nominated for a total of 35 awards and won 14!

Challenge Guidelines:

• Project must be posted during the week of the challenge, no backlinking
• Must be a scrapbook layout, any size is okay
• Link up by Saturday May 25th at 11:00 PM US CST
• Number of challenge entries is limited to three per participant

RCS #36 - "Baby Mama"

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day! I hope all you moms out there have a wonderful day. :) We'd also like to thank everyone who participated in our layout challenge last week! 

This week we're having a card challenge and we welcome our card guest designer this month, Erica!

 Inspired by the movie, "Baby Mama," this week's challenge is to create a baby-themed card!

"Baby Mama" is a 2008 romantic comedy starring Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.Businesswoman  Kate is 37 years old and still single, but she is determined to have a child. Her plan is thrown a curve ball after she discovers she has only a million-to-one chance of getting pregnant. Undaunted, the driven Kate allows South Philly working girl, Angie Ostrowiski, to become her unlikely surrogate. Angie gets pregnant, and Kate starts reading childcare books, makes the house baby-proof, and starts searching for pre-schools. Then all of a sudden Angie shows up at her house with no place to live. What will happen?

RCS #35 - "Black Swan"

Hey RCS fans! We're back with another layout challenge! Hope you all had fun celebrating National Scrapbook Day!

Our challenge this week is to create a layout using black as the prominent color!

Our challenge this week is inspired by the film, "Black Swan."

"Black Swan" is a drama movie from 2010. The main characters are played by Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.

Nina is a professional ballet dancer in who lives in New York. She lives with her mother, who used to be a ballerina. When the director of the ballet she dances for decides to replace the main character for their new show, The Swan Lake, Nina is first choice. But Nina has some serious competition, newbie Lily also wants to be the main dancer. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. How will this end?

"My name is Connie Hall, aka Cherished. I am an avid scrapper and paper crafter.  I have 6 children and a wonderful supportive husband.  I work as a Child Care Supervisor and enjoy camping, photography and working out at a crossfit type gym. I have been scrapbooking for over 10 years. I have been submitting my work online for a year and a half.  I love to collect and play with paper.  I am currently on 3 challenge blog design teams. I don't like to think I have a style. I am ever changing and love everything from mixed media, to layering and can be shabby chic, grungy or clean and simple.  I am honored to be a Guest Designer here at Red Carpet Studio. My all time favorite movie is Dirty Dancing. I was raised in the 80's Movie Genre (don't hold it against me) and I love a heart wrenching love story.  I am also addicted to the Walking Dead on AMC.  Thanks for the opportunity to share my work with you."

I have an amazing hubby who still gives me that butterfly feeling in my stomach and cracks me up on a daily basis! I fell in love with scrapbooking/memory keeping in Jr. High School when my very first scrapbook was given to me for Valentine's Day and I have been a memory keeper ever since! I am a mini album addict and I love anything and everything Amy Tangerine! I am always up for a challenge and love trying out new products and techniques on my projects. I love to mix different lines and products on my layouts and add lots of dimension and tons of embellies! My must have tool in my scrap space is my Tim Holtz Vagabond and Dave Matthews Band is almost always playing on my computer while I am creating!"
